Every user has the choice of changing internet lines anytime they please.  When the line you are using is congested by other gamers, now you have the option to change your line and be smooth online again!

• Line Changer can be found in the tools whereby the choices of lines 1, 2 and 3 are there.

Redefined Upgraded Game Menu!

The Game Menu is back to normal, categorized by game genre and fixed some bugs of tools which were unusable.  The user accounts for Call of Duty 4 are finally stabilized and fixed the server problem.

Instead of the traditional loud banging sound of gamers around the Cafe, Mineski Grounds has become a more relaxing and comfortable place to Jam since now you can hear your own sounds of the game (w/c is crucial for FPS gamers eg. Footsteps and Gun fire locations)

The Headset is also equipped with a microphone for you to be able to use voice protocol programs over the internet enabling valued guests to call online or chat using their voice.

New Chairs to replace the “Lowered Chairs” in MG

New chairs (MI chair model) have been ordered and used in Mineski Grounds, slowly replacing all the old chairs one by one.

Hello, I am Ma. Katrina “Kath” Ferrer.  Kath for short aka. Bhabhiekath and mski.hottiekath. A simple but definitely a one hot chick!  I’m currently studying in AMA Manila, Information Tech student but I’m planning to shift course again and again.  Currently living in Quezon City.  I love siomai, pizza, siopao, Braso de Mercedes, cakes, chocolates, “I love you and I love boys!” Haha!

Waah! I don’t want to mention any names, mabubuko ako. Haha!

When did you start playing DotA? Did someone influenced you?

Actually I don’t know.  Haha!  All I remember, I started playing DotA in the version where Puck was newly created.  No one influenced me.  AI taught me how to play DotA at first.

What were your family and friends reactions when they’ve learned that you are currently hooked in DotA?

At first. My family, they are really mad at me because they always hear me shouting with vulgar words like “!@#$%^&*()_STUN MO!” They thought DotA will make me a warfreak and they’ve learned also that I started to gamble.  Bus as time goes by, they understand that it’s just only a game. Haha!  About my friends, they are proud of me because only few girls play DotA.

It’s very unusual for a girl like you to play these kind of games, what part of DotA attracted and motivated you to continue playing?

“I love the chicken courier.”  Chicken courier is one of the reasons why I continue playing DotA.  No kidding.  Haha! “Cute kasi!” and oh my friends.  Most of my friends play DotA.

Do you find any disadvantages as a Female Gamer?

Being a gamer is one thing, being a girl gamer is something else.  It seems that no one will take you seriously if you’re a girl.  People are constatly under the impression that girls can’t game.  They are underestimating us. But man! We can kick your asses!

Who are the players you admired the most in Professional Gaming Scene?

Whoelse? Bongertzzz “ mski-dota.bong-” lang.

Any memorable moments or game while playing DotA?

Haha! While I’m playing some pub games in Pacific Suites around 3 AM.  My boyfriend that time send me a text message, “If I will not go home, he’ll break up with me”. I replied “Sige, bye!”.

Aside from DotA, what else interests you? Other Hobbies?

You are considered as one of the hottest girl DotA player in our country, what does if feel to be famous not only in DotA but as a woman as well? Any difficult experiences?

Woah! “Pang Binibining Pilipinas yung question”.  Thanks for the question.  Haha!  Actually, I don’t consider myself as one of the hottest girl DotA player, but they do.  Joke! Haha! Many hard experiences.  So hard to deal with the temptations especially when a hot guy is the one who first flirted with me.  Hey not the lust temptation.  I’m talking about a clean relationship here.  Like for example I have a boyfriend, but when a hot or handsome guys blah blah.. Get it?

And Lastly, Any Gigs? Shows? Tours? Message for someone and for your fans?

Ever wonder what it would be like to be mentored by your Mineski-Dota idols? Ever wish you had a chance to play with them on lan? Well, if your answer is yes, then this one is definitely for you.

Mineski is launching its DotA Development Program this summer 2010! After the success of Mineski’s participation in the Lasallian Enrichment Alternative Program last February 16, 2010, here is another project designed to reach out to the community in the hope that as Team Mski-Dota shares their knowledge and skills as well as their experiences in  DotA, all those who enrolled will have improved their game after the program duration.

The program will be headed by Dean Ronald ‘rhom‘ Robins and the professors will be Jose ‘bong-‘ Silva, Anthony Dennis ‘ynot?‘ Senedrin, Angelo ‘-doc-‘ Docosin, and Yukihiro ‘3773‘ Hasegawa. It is scheduled to run a course of 1 month with three sessions per week. All participants will be grouped into 4 and these groups will be led by the 4 Mineski-Dota players who will personally mentor them through the program.

After the month-long training, there will be a showdown for the four teams and the Champion will be tagged as DLSU-DotA among other perks.

Mineski.net brings you a coverage of the scrim match between Magic 89.9’s Cj “the DJ”, and DLSU Green Archer’s Junjun Cabatu.

These two local celebrities are also known as casual gamers in a shop nearby their house at Game Frog Internet Cafe in Metrowalk.  They always play “just for fun” and usually the loser buys a bucket of beer for the winner.

The match was initiated when Cj and Junjun decided to raise the level of their gameplay, after playing for quite sometime in pubs, calling their friends who plays in a tournament environment to battle it out!

This is an excellent sign for all the DotA players out there since the game is capturing the interest of many people, even our local celebrities.  In time, we’ll see if the gaming environment will get better.

You just don’t have any idea who you are playing against in LAN games like in Garena… “Malay mo artista na pala yun!”

AMPGL point system

The point system for each teams who garnered a top spot from 1st to 8th place in an AMPGL evemt are as follows:

• 1st place – 8 points
• 2nd place – 6 points
• 3rd place – 4 points
• 4th place – 2 points
• 5th to 8th place – 1 point

The team with the highest points for the 10 month long tournament will be the one to represent Philippines in the next SMM Grand Finals 2010 at Malaysia.

February is love month and it is no surprise that the two veteran teams from Recto are among the favorites to win in the tournament.  i < 3 mackkk shares his thoughts on what happened on the play dates.

“Swerte kami kasi palagi kaming talo (Pag-ibig 1) eh nagkataon andito si RR, hindi namin na expect na mananalo kami mga alamat na kasi sila eh“

Lucky or not what Pag-ibig 2 did was no small feat. They had to slug it out with their sister team Pag-ibig 2 (replay) and had to come up with a brilliant strategy: Early Push/Healer line-up to counter Mineski-DotA who won their first finals game with ease. After getting hacked by Mineski-DotA (bone clinx) in the first game (replay), the pressure was on Pag-ibig 2 who has the twice-to-beat advantage.  How did they overcome the pressure? i < 3 regh shares:

“Wala na kaming naisip, after nung first game stick na lang kame dun sa lagi naming line-up. Pugak (Push type) na lang dun kame sanay eh. Sakto napalabas namin Chen…ayon gumana yung alamat”

The game plan was simple. Get push type heroes, mass healers and finish the game early. It was a risk worth taking as Mineski-DotA cannot help but watch their outer towers go down one by one as Pag-ibig utilized their line-up (Chen, Sven, Dazzle, Necrolyte, QOP) and ultimately win the game in less that 35 minutes of play time. Lack of gas? Mski-DotA is having problems at the later stages of the tournament

Home team Mski-DotA has performed excellently in the early stages of the tournament but, when it comes to the final stretch they always ran out of gas. This could be seen in the last two tournaments they have always lost in the battle for the twice to beat advantage before the finals. Meanwhile rookie team Oroboros surprised many of the spectators as they took the 5th place of the tournament while, Evil child took the 6th place beating top teams like Prime 2 in the process.

Mineski Events Team: Bringing Innovation

With the second tournament for DotA comes new changes from the Events team that handles the tournament. One big change that were implemented, was a registration give-away to the team that will register and come to the venue on time. The raffle was won by DnC (Dulo ng Cavite).  mski.likemike summarizes the major changes on the venues of tournament:

“Nagkaroon na tayo ng sponsors booth, kung saan andun sila may space tapos pwede silang magshow-case ng gamit nila gaya nung ginawa ng Cooler Master and Hitachi. Inayos naman ni Eya yung sa loading screen for the DotA, malapit na ding lumabas yung teams database na ginagawa ni Vinni and Natte. Tapos si Lon naman sa logistics ng tournament. I’m still compiling the waiver forms of all participants and sa stats na hopefully ma-integrate sa website before mag 1-3″

With all these things happening after the second tournament, what will gamers expect on the  3rd stage of AMPGL?
