Happy Feet, Execration, Entity, IPT.4114 advance to semi finals

More than 2,500 aspirants hopped into the journey to claim the lion’s share for the PHP 200,000 and be glorified as the next ASUS ROG Master. But after two days of gruelling best-of-ones, only four the best Filipino Dota 2 teams emerged victorious.

Happy Feet, Execration, Entity, and IPT.4114 all stood tall among the sea of contenders to take a step closer to be the representative of Philippines for the SEA Qualifiers. They will advance further into the best-of-three semi finals.

Filipino Dota 2 staples like the resurging Happy Feet and The International 2017-bound Execration almost made no surprise upon advancing for the next round. But Entity and IPT.4114 were able to emerge from the shadows of the qualifiers to prove that more Filipino talents are just waiting to be honed and discovered.

The India-based, Filipino-filled Dota 2 roster roster has been grinding to be atop of the SEA scene. Having Filipino rising stars like Avelino “Ab1ng” Parungao and Jun “Bokerino” Kanehara, Entity has a solid shot to prove themselves at the ASUS ROG Masters.

On the other hand, IPT.4114 is a new blood blood waiting to catch a break. While there are only so much to learn about the team, their organization has already established storied feats in the local scene. Their roster may be composed of virtual unknowns but don’t let it cloud your judgment–teams dubbed as underdogs can always pull off the greatest upsets.

The answer to whether the staples will be able to cement their legacy or the young guns be able to prove that they are the next future of Philippine Dota can only be answered on August 19 for the semi finals.
