Both WarriorsGaming Unity and Execration were already secured of a spot at the ASUS ROG Global Finals in December but pride and bragging rights were still at stake for the would be kings of the APAC tournament. Behind the talent of Meracle and Feero, WG Unity swept Execration in convincing fashion to take home the trophy in front of a ravenous crowd.

In the series opener, Execration switched things up with star player Raging Potato giving him the roaming Sand King. Unfortunately, he was out-roamed by AfrOmoush‘s Spirit Breaker which stunted Execration’s laning phase. The early momentum allowed Feero to just take control of the game. As Execration were getting outplayed, team captain Kimo would have liked more output from from his core Omniknight and Weaver. Both RR and Gabbi were the weak links for the Filipino squad in Game 1 as they almost no impact for their team.

Execration once again allowed Spirit Breaker through in Game 2. WG Unity used the AfrOmoush special as well as their Bane-Mirana combo to start the game with six quick kills. The fast tempo would work in WG Unity’s favor as the Venomancer and Death Prophet of Execration struggled with their long ultimate cooldowns. Execration managed to prolong Game 2 thanks to Veno’s Plague Wards but the snowball from WG Unity’s early lead was too much for Execration to come back from.

WG Unity did not drop a single match in the whole ROG APAC tournament. They took down TNC Pro Team before dismantling Execration in the Grand Final. The ASUS ROG Global Finals will be held in Malaysia.
