DeTonator’s Ab1ng: We Can Show Our True Potential in Two Months

The new all-Filipino squad will be tested in Globe PPGL 2018

After his rather lackluster journey with multiple international Dota 2 teams, the Filipino wunderkind Avelino “Ab1ng” Parungao III was finally able to find home in a newly formed all-Filipino Dota 2 line-up DeTonator.

Ab1ng was Entity Gaming’s offlaner for nearly a year before he got to join in the Japanese-owned esports organization. In an interview with Mineski.net, Ab1ng admitted that having to play once more in the Philippines undeniably makes him feel hyped.

I can finally play Dota non-stop. I used to stop playing for several months just because I’m in search for a new team,” he said.

Together with some of the Philippines’ best talents, James “Jamesy” John, Jun “Bokerino” Kanehara, Julius “Julz” Sto. Domingo, and Joshua “Owa” Dela Serna, ab1ng reawakens his esports journey as he joins the Globe PPGL 2018, a nationwide esports tournament which features three major esports titles across multiple gaming platforms.

It’s another opportunity for me to learn. Julz and Owa are some of the most experienced players that we have and playing with them can help me adopt a new play style. I think we can show our true potential in two months,” Ab1ng said.

Ab1ng and the DeTonator are currently in the final round of their group for the Globe PPGL 2018.
