DPC-less Invictus Gaming to defend their title
The first six teams that will fly to Shanghai, China this March for the Dota 2 Asia Championships 2018, a Major Dota 2 tournament organized by Perfect World, has already been announced.
Top Dota 2 Pro Circuit teams, Team Secret, Team Liquid, Virtus.pro, Newbee, Vici Gaming, and Dota 2 Asia Championships defending champion Invictus Gaming will be joining 10 regional qualifier winners to fight for the lion’s share of $1,000,000 and 1,500 Dota Pro Circuit points.
The Dota 2 Asia Championships, which was dubbed as The International of the east, has already been held twice since it started last 2015. It featured the rise of Evil Geniuses‘ wunderkind, Sumail, as they lifted the Radiance during the tournament’s first iteration, as well as the return of Chinese Dota 2 veteran BurNIng after Invictus Gaming swept European powerhouse OG in the grand finals last year.
For Dota 2 fans in the Philippines, the Dota 2 Asia Championships was the tournament which featured the iconic #Raveolution of Filipino Dota 2 squad Rave. Jeyo, DJ, ryOr, Cast, and ninjaboogie, who were the first generation of Overseas Filipino Gamers, gave glory to their country after placing a respectable 5th-6th place at the premier tournament.

The Dota 2 Asia Championships 2018 was announced at the Perfect World Ceremony 2017 by Gu Liming, the Senior Vice President of Perfect World. More details about the tournament’s third iteration will also be announced later on.
