EnDerr May Not Attend the WESG 2017 Main Event

The PH Starcraft great is serious about putting studies first

Caviar “EnDerr” Acampado, a storied Filipino Starcraft 2 player, has revealed that he may not be able to represent the Philippines in the Starcraft 2 division of the upcoming World Electronic Sports Games 2017 Grand Finals.

After publicizing that Starcraft 2 is no longer his first priority, EnDerr, who currently balances work, schooling, and professional gaming, admitted that he may have to forfeit his slot at the WESG 2017 Starcraft 2 Grand Finals because of his “busy schedule.”

Enderr qualified to the Grand Finals of the WESG 2017 after finishing 5th-8th place during the WESG 2017 Starcraft 2 Asia Pacific Finals last January. He came out second in his group, only dropping a single game against the eventual top seed, Huang “Nice” Yu Xiang. During the Playoff, EnDerr was able to defeat Justin “Elusory” Chua in the first round before having his journey cut off by the eventual champion, Kim “Classic” Doh Woo.

If worse comes to worst, EnDerr assured his supporters that it’s unlikely of him to regret having to forfeit his Global Finals slot because he believes that more opportunities awaits him in the near future. “Sorry, if I won’t be able to go to global finals, but please support me if ever I’ll go,” EnDerr said when asked about his message for his fans. This wasn’t the first time EnDerr brought honor to the country in the Starcraft 2 scene. In 2013, EnDerr was crowned as the grand champion of the Vengeance Cup, a Southeast-Asian Starcraft 2 tournament, after besting Marcus “Revenant” Tan Sin Yik in the finals. He was also the only local Starcraft 2 player to win three consecutive Mineski Pro Gaming League titles.

The WESG 2017 Global Finals will pit about 600 of the best Dota 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Starcraft 2, and Hearthstone players from 46 different countries at the Hainan International Convention & Exhibition Center in China this March. Nearly $4,000,000 in prize pool will be up for grabs.
