Support your favorite team at Worlds 2018!

Riot Games is preparing something big for the coming 2018 League of Legends World Championship. While the previous two world championships only involved a single championship skin and the option to buy your favorite team’s icon, this year seems to have more in store for Summoners. Riot Games released a trailer video for the upcoming Worlds Season 2018 special event that will most likely launch in the following days as Worlds 2018 approaches.

Shown in the video were some of the usual extra content that only come out each year during this season. This year’s championship skin will be for Kha’zix and the option to purchase icons that translate into in-game emotes will be making a return from the previous season. The Worlds 2018 Event will also seemingly coincide with League of Legends‘ Halloween event as the trailer showed off Halloween themed skins for Janna, Ekko and Kled. The teaser video showed gold chroma skins for the existing championship skins which add a certain flair of class to the already visually stunning skins. The video ended with an extended look at an upcoming popstar Kai’sa skin which may have connections to the actual World Championship.

Riot Games have consistently improved the missions feature for League of Legends so we can all expect a special World Championship event that will involve the players beyond simply purchasing the annual championship skin and the icon for our favorite team. The 2018 League of Legends World Championship is set to kick off officially on October 1, 2018 with the Play-In stage so expect the Worlds Season 2018 Event to launch in-client some time soon.
