Team Roster:

  • Fua ‘Lance’ Hsien Wan
  • Kok ‘ddz’ Yi Liong

  • Goh ‘Mozun’ Choo Jian
  • Kelvin ‘MtR’ Chong

Malaysian team HighGround was formed only last August but they cannot be taken lightly. While the team may be new the members already have plenty of experience together. They played under the infamous Arrow Gaming way back in 2014.

Ddz was considered to be one of the best mid laners to come out of the South East Asian region but a catastrophic match-fixing scandal derailed his stellar rise. He earned himself a lifetime ban from Valve events and has mostly been forgotten. His popularity has waned but his talent is still there and he hopes to redeem himself with a win at ASUS ROG Masters.

This team that runs with Ddz is mostly the same team that was with him during the peak of his career. Lance, MtR, and Mozun have been with Ddz through thick and thin so the camaraderie is strong in this HighGround team.

HighGround pulled off a few surprises over the last month. They recently bested HappyFeet in the VPGame Challenger League Finals. They also grabbed wins against the 343-led FireDragoon and Philippine squad Skyville. While stiffer competition awaits them in the APAC Regionals, HighGround has a chance to prove all of their doubters wrong should they bring their A-game.

On October 26-29, if HighGround prove their worth at the APAC Regionals to battle against Asia Pacific’s best Dota 2 teams for ASUS ROG Masters 2017 APAC Finals. You can catch them live and see if they will manage to make Indonesia proud.

The ASUS ROG Masters 2017 APAC Regional Qualifiers will be on October 26-29 at SMX Convention Center. Admission is free.
