Road To Indonesia Is Real

Skyville secured $1,000 in prize money plus the honor of representing the Philippines in Jakarta, Indonesia after being crowned as the grand champions of New Blood Championships Philippine Regional Qualifiers last Saturday at the Samsung Hall of SM Aura Premiere.
The Pampanga-based squad undeniably stood out among the 16 aspirants, but their road to glory was never easy. They had to overcome the likes of Fernando “Nando” Mendoza’s Neon Esports and Jason “Pason” Henoquin’s YoungMinds before facing BRZ Gaming in the grand finals.
However, as hard as their road to grand finals seemed, all it took for Skyville to win the New Blood Championships Philippine Regional Qualifiers was a 43-minute game. Due to the tournament rules, the Pampangeños were awarded a twice-to-beat advantage over their opponents, resulting in a do-or-die game 1 for BRZ Gaming.
Skyville’s frontline was phenomenal. Carlos “Cris” Lachica and Julius “JG” Galeon, who played Weaver and Puck respectively, stepped up their game to utterly dominate their counterparts from minute one to the gg call.
After being a consistent Class S squad at multiple Mineski Pro Gaming Leagues, Skyville finally found their stride as a Philippine representative. In an interview, Skyville’s coach, Roy Rebuta, said that their success was unexpected, “we just did our best to play and [dedicated] it to the Lord.“
If Skyville’s success continues at the New Blood Championships main event, they will have the chance to attend the Galaxy Battles Season 2, the first Major Dota 2 tournament of 2018 which will be hosted in the Philippines.
