The World Electronics Sports Games 2017 Grand Finals Heads to Haikou, China

The World Electronics Sports Games 2017 (WESG), a premier international esports tournaments spanning across multiple games and nearly 46 different countries, will have its grand final in Haikou, Hainan Province, China on March 13-18, 2018.

Nearly 600 players will be competing in the 4 main categories of the tournament: Dota 2CS:GOHearthstone, and StarCraft II. Hearthstone and CS:GO also includes a separate women’s division during the grand final. The event at Haikou will also include exhibition matches for King of Fighters 14 and Vainglory. Many top KOF players and Vainglory teams will be making an appearance at WESG 2017 .

The Dota 2 division features several notable teams such as EHOME and mousesports along with several notable professional players like No[o]neRAMZES666SoloResolut1onw33, and many more. The CS:GO division includes top teams Cloud9SK Gaming and defending champions, Team EnVyUs. CS:GO pros are set to set the stage with LODAClassicFallen, and Fr0zen all confirmed to participate in the event.

The Philippines’ very own HappyFeet and Entity Gaming will be representing the country in the Dota 2 division after their performance in the APAC Qualifier of WESG 2017. The qualified rosters may have lost a few members but the original teams that played in the APAC qualifier will still push through to the main event. HappyFeet’s former players, JulzBenhur, and Boombacs, will be fighting with HF for one last time will Ab1ng and Bok join their former teammates on Entity Gaming during the main event.

The tournaments for each main game will play out in three stages:

  • First Group Stage: 32 Players/Teams divided into 8 Groups
  • Second Group Stage: 16 Players/Teams Divided into 4 Groups
  • Playoffs: Single Elimination Bracket

WESG 2017 has been going on for over 7 months, building up to the exciting culmination at the Hainan International Convention & Exhibition Center in Haikou, China.
