Three more qualifier slots left for SEA
Alpha Red and TNC Tigers have moved on to The International 2018 Southeast Asia main qualifiers after dominating the first phase of the region’s open qualifiers.
Among the 285 Southeast Asian hopefuls that started their road to Canada, Thailand’s Alpha Red and the Sivatheeban “1437” Sivanathapillai-led TNC Tigers were able to endure four do-or-die matches, and two best-of-three series to claim the first two out of five slots reserved for the SEA open qualifiers
Alpha Red has beaten a couple of notable teams, like the Philippine-based HappyFeet squad and the Chang “2hoi” Tu stack named XcN, before meeting TNC Tigers in a non-bearing best-of-one.
Battling under the tutelage of Pipat “LaKelz” Prariyacha, Alpha Red’s successful The International 2018 SEA open qualifier run can be traced from their convincing performances in the on-going MPGL Asian Championship.
Meanwhile, the more dominant TNC Tigers have finally lived up to the hype that started since the management teased the conception of a new 1437-led squad. They were able to beat the Globe PPGL 2018 Dota 2 grand champions, TaskUs Titans, Dominik “Black^” Reitmeier’s Entity Gaming, and Malaysia’s GeekFam.
TNC Tigers is an amalgamation of the region’s most promising up-and-coming players, like Muhammad “inYourdreaM” Rizky, Kenny “Xepher” Deo, and Trịnh “458” Văn Thọ. Guiding them are veterans in 1437 and Lee “kYxY” Kong Yang.
The three remaining teams that will complete The International 2018 SEA qualifiers and join TNC Pro Team, Fnatic Dota, BOOM ID, Alpha Red, and TNC Tigers will be determined this weekend in the second wave of The International 2018 SEA open qualifiers.
