A huge pre-TI8 roster shuffle
Evil Geniuses has finalized the replacements for the departure of Clinton “Fear” Loomis and Rasmus “MISERY” Filipsen in their official Dota 2 roster, as they welcome now ex-OG members, Tal “Fly” Aizik and Gustav “s4” Magnusson.
This is a tough one to stomach, but we look up and ahead. I wish @s4dota & @Fly_dota2 the very best. They are greatest, in every way and OGs to the core. https://t.co/G674AT17mh

According to OG’s official statement, rebuilding their Dota 2 roster is one of the things they exert good effort into. Their performances have significantly improved over the past tournaments, following the exit of Roman “Resolut1on” Fomynok on March. However, OG admitted that applying change is still necessary—even if it meant the departure of their captain and one of the team’s founders.
“It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing my departure from OG. These last few years together have been some of the best in my life, getting to know and to work with some incredible people. Winning 4 Valve majors together and fighting through many tournaments, these are all memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I can not thank everyone enough – those who have supported me and OG on this journey, and I wish them nothing but success. #DreamOG,” Fly stated.
EG’s management has expressed optimism in the reunion of the fabled support duo in Fly and Andreas “Cr1t-” Nielsen, who both won two Valve major tournaments together prior to the Dota Pro Circuit.
Meanwhile, the reunion of s4 and Artour “Arteezy” Babaev has also been welcomed by the Dota 2 community. Both players took part in Team Secret‘s glory days in 2015 when they notched four consecutive championship titles, including The Summit 3 and ESL One Frankfurt 2015.
“I would like to thank everyone that is OG and has been part of OG. These 2 years of hard work and success have been very tough but also so rewarding. I’m sad but also excited about what’s to come. I would like to wish OG best of luck in the future, fighting!” s4 said.
Even though OG’s roster change will not affect their recent Dota Pro Circuit status, the removal Fly and s4 in their official line-up prompted the organization to withdraw from the China Dota 2 Supermajor, the last Major tournament of the Dota Pro Circuit. OG, however, assured that they will complete their roster in time for The International 2018 European open qualifiers.
Meanwhile, the addition of former OG players in EG’s line-up has allowed Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan to move back in his original mid position, with Arteezy, Cr1t, and Kanishka ‘Sam’ “BuLba” Sosale, retaining their roles as the carry, position four support, and coach, respectively. EG will parade their new line-up in China starting on June 2.
