Bren Esports is a Rules of Survival authority in the Philippines. Formerly competing under NRX, one of the most recognized clans in the country, before being granted sponsorship from the well-decorated esports organization, the squad composed of Julius “Aim” Gramatica, Jayson “45Cal” Tabin, Ashley “Ash” Castillo, and Ericsson “Mine” Reyes is notoriously known for the myriad of achievements and championship titles under their belt, including their latest feat at the PHP 500,000 prize pool in TNC Cup 2019.
When Netease revealed that the Top Clans Arena 2019, the first and official international Rules of Survival tournament, will be held in Manila and two outstanding clans from the Philippines and Vietnam will be directly invited to partake in the main event, it was more than rightful for Bren Esports to receive recognition.
As the qualifiers for the biggest Rules of Survival tournament of the year draw nearer, we at Mineski.net caught up with Bren Esports to ask about their background, gameplay, and some good advice for Rules of Survival squads participating the Top Clans Arena 2019.
When did you start playing Rules of Survival? How was your squad formed?
Some of us started playing Rules of Survival mobile since Season 1, then transitioned into the PC version in the same season. Our current squad, however, was formed in a middle of a tournament. We lacked one member to compete and we recruited 45Cal to complete our squad.
How did you guys realize that you’re capable of competing competitively?
We knew about it when we joined and won our first tournament. More so, realizing that we have developed a great brand of communication and teamwork established our potential to compete competitively.
How did you feel that you’re one of the Philippines’ representatives in Top Clans Arena 2019?
We were happy to be recognized as one of the VIP Clans who will move on straight to the finals and as the Philippines’ representatives against other Southeast Asian countries.
What makes up a great Rules of Survival squad?
Aim: A great Rules of Survival squad is a squad that helps and understands each other. It’s important to treat each other like brothers.
45Cal: All players should know how to listen and follow commands for perfect gameplay. All players should move as one.
Mine: Everyone should know how to listen to suggestions. They are a good Rules of Survival squad if they show signs of improvement.
Ash: It’s simple: Teamwork.
How does your squad move around the map?
We let each member do what they want or need to do, but each and everyone considers the location and size of the safe zone for each move we make.
How does your squad make in-game decisions? Who makes the call?
Each member of the squad may provide input, and decision-making usually vary depending on the situation. Most of the time, however, it’s our captain, Julius “Aim” Gramatic, who makes the call.
What piece of advice can you give to those who joined the Top Clans Arena 2019?
Remain humble, join all the tournaments that you can, and most importantly, practice.
What message can you give out to Bren Esports’ fans and supporters? Thank you to all our supporters. We promise to do our best in all our matches. Please catch us in the Top Clans Arena 2019 finals. We love you all.
The Top Clans Arena 2019 will be held on November 16, 2019 at the Le Pavillion Metropolitan Park in Pasay City,
