The Unbeaten Best: Execration Reigns at ROG MASTERS 2017 PH Finals

Gears Up for APAC Qualifiers

The grand two-day showdown between four of Philippines’ best Dota 2 contenders ended like how most thought it was supposed to be, but not exactly how it should be.

Comeback was the name of the game for Execration as their persistence outlasted Entity Gaming, 2-1, to go home PHP 125,000 richer and be hailed as the ROG MASTERS 2017 Philippine Finals Dota 2 grand champions.

Fresh from Seattle, the presence of Execration clad in their The International 2017 player jackets at the SM North EDSA Cyberzone is already enough to make any supposed enemy tremble on their knees.

However, the first grand finalist, Entity Gaming, were having none of it. The stack filled with four Filipino talents, Ab1ing, Benhur, Bokerino, Job “Jobeeezy” Ramos, and WESG 2016 silver finisher Danny “Noia” Junget, made the TI7 attendees definitely work for their victory from the first game down to the last.

The Dota 2 grand final for ROG MASTERS 2017 Philippine Finals was the only series to need all three games to determine the winner. Entity Gaming’s convincing early game prowess in each game almost secured the massive upset.

Being the internationally-acclaimed team that they are plus Gabbi’s resistance against Entity Gaming to rain on his comeback parade, Execration never let it happened. They were able to turn around ETG’s more than 10K worth of gold lead in a single Rampage by Gabbi and Raging Potato’s perfectly-timed Skewer.

Despite getting their LAN debut spoiled by the unbeaten best, the performance of the India-based gaming organization, Entity Gaming, only built a solid base for what this team can achieve in the forthcoming season.

Meanwhile, the domination of Execration handed them another shot to prove themselves to be a ROG Master as they will be Philippines’ representative for the ROG Masters 2017 APAC Qualifiers.
