The International 2017 Status Update
Time has finally brought us to the depths of this year’s grand Dota 2 showdown. With three days remaining until The International 2017 kicks off, the hype which the community feel can only get intensified, especially now that the groupings are announced and the teams have arrived at Seattle.
Yep, Seattle, right now, is a land overflowing with Dota 2 greatness as the best players from around the world gathered for The International. Cloud9’s arrival earlier today completed the list of teams competing for the $23 million prize pool.
However, according to Team Empire’s post, their carry Vladimir “Chappie” Kuzmenko is yet to arrive due to a conflict with his visa. Save for his arrival, The International is good to go.
The group division for the Aegis of Champions’ conteders has also been revealed a while ago. At first glance, one wouldn’t help but notice how group B got four direct invitees compared to group A’s two. Nevertheless, only the best Dota 2 matches should be expected as the group stage starts on August 3 at 12:00 AM SGT.
The group stages will be played in a best-of-two series for four days. The top four of each group will be seeded in the upper bracket while the next four will be seeded in the lower bracket. Teams who will finish at the bottom of their respective groups will be eliminated.
The International 2017 main event will be on August 8, 2017 at the KeyArena, Seattle, Washington, USA.
