YoungMinds was crowned as the TNC eSports Cup Dota 2‘s first back-to-back champions after sweeping Fairview’s MC3D in the grand finals of the tournament’s third season.
Among the massive pool of hopefuls gathered nationwide from 25 TNC Cybercafés, the squad composed of Benz Jason “Pason” Henoguin, Joshua “416” Maraño, Edward Adrian “EA” Catalan, Keyser “keys?” Cortez Opeña, and James “Goaty” Voss easily stood out. YoungMinds, along with Skyville, MC3D, and Comsville, battled through a grueling set of qualifiers to secure a slot at the TNC eSports Cup Dota 2 Season 3 grand finals.
As the final four candidates started to battle it out for the championship, each team that YoungMinds had to face was brutally reminded why the boys of YoungMinds are the TNC eSports Cup Dota 2 2017 defending champions. Both Skyville and MC3D never stood a chance against the keys-led team, as they got swept in all of their match-ups. In five perfect games, YoungMinds defended their TNC eSports Cup Dota 2 title and walked away P30,000 richer.
MC3D, the first runner-up, settled with P10,000, while Skyville and Comsville, the 2nd and 3rd runners-up received P5,000 each.
